Republican scientific-practical seminar on “CERT services in the Republic of Azerbaijan: cyber threats and methods of their protection” was held on March 14. The event was co-organized within the framework of Cyber Security Week by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Special State Protection Service and Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS. The main objective of the event was to hold discussions on the achievements, upcoming tasks of the CERT services operating in the country, issues of information exchange between relevant entities regarding incidents, prospects for international cooperation, as well as integration into relevant international agencies.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizade, academician-secretary of ANAS, director of the Institute of Information Technologies of ANAS, academician Rasim Aliguliyev, Deputy Chief of the State Agency for Special Communications and Information Security of the Special State Protection Service Azer Ahadov spoke about the work done on education of private and other entities of the country in the field of cybersecurity and the formation of cyber security awareness, protection of information processes, protection of information resources, systems from possible threats and increasing the level of general training in the field of cybersecurity.
This was followed by reports of head of the Electronic Security Service under the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies Faig Farmanov on “Activities of the Electronic Security Service (www.cert.az)”, department head of the Institute of Information Technologies, Assistant Professor Yadigar Imamverdiyev on “Evolution of CERT: new trends and challenges”, and chief of the State Agency for Special Communications and Information Security of the Special State Protection Service Tural Mammadov on “Activities of CERT.gov.az in the fight against new generation threats. The presentation of newly created service blacklist.gov.az”.
